When is a Fire Safety Advisor Required?

Under the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008 (Queensland), a Fire Safety Advisor (FSA) must be appointed when any of the following apply:

Workplaces with ≥ 30 workers

For Class 2, 3, 5, 6, 7b, 8, 9a or 9b buildings.

High‑rise residential

Class 2 or 3 buildings with effective height over 25 m.

Licensed or at‑risk premises

Identified by QFES as requiring an appointed FSA.
